Artist Statement
Spring 2010

My work can be all over the place, and I like it that way.

I make it for me after all.

Collage, drawing, assemblage and painting. More often than not mixed together like a big bowl of homemade spaghetti sauce.

I’ve made “fine" art about the following in no particular order: fear, sports, my brothers, music, anxiety, politics, cartoons, my father, trees, TV, rock n roll, crazy people on the L., my wife, my children, random people on the L. Stories in the newspaper, etc, etc…

My influences are the same; with a whole lot of old school Northern California peace, love and rock n roll thrown in the mix.

What ever it is, my aim is to be direct and true.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it don’t.

Cause if I made the same thing over and over I’d go crazy, wouldn’t you?
