Funny story on how this happened, in my last semester of my under grad, I slipped and dislocated my right elbow. Yep the drawing arm. I walked into class heartbroken, and upset. My instructor Franklin Williams said kid don't worry, at least ya didn't break your legs, now switch hands and get back to work. Then the big moment happened, he handed me a pair of scissors and some glue, and said free your self.
Ive never looked back
Collages open up new doors, create depth and detail. It brings life back to old work, accidents, mistakes, and discarded materials. Its like hitting a home run with guys on in the bottom of ninth, a whole new ball game.
Its changed the way I work for the better, check out my assemblages, and installations to see further where collage has taken me.
